The Jio MAMI Film Festival , held at the NMACC, and taking place from 27 Oct to 5 Nov, 2023, saw the arrival of Priyanka Chopra in Mumbai, all the way from US. The Sky Is Pink actor is the chairperson of the festival, and declared its opening in the presence of celebrities including Sonam Kapoor , Bhumi Pednekar, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and many others. And while the inauguration is a long-awaited occasion for cinephiles to feast on some choice films from all over the world, it also brought a little something for the fashion-lovers with Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, dressing their best for the events.

For the opening night, the desi girl was styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray in a white Tony Ward bodycon floor-length tulle gown, featuring neck-to-toe ruched detailing on the front and top-half back of the dress, plus a high halter neckline. Additionally, the grown had gold embroidery that ran along the ruched detailing and added to the allure of the look. The dress, part of the label's Fall/Winter '24 collection, also came with a white taffeta floor-length cape worn over it. The outfit was styled in the exact fashion as the brand's photoshoot, which worked in Chopra's favour and elongated her physique. The outfit was paired with accessories from luxury label, Bulgari —consisting of a Serpenti Spiga watch, diamond rings, a chain bracelet and stud earrings. A fitting choice, since Priyanka is the brand ambassador of the Italian luxury brand. A sleek updo complemented her ensemble, coupled with dramatic eyes and glam makeup from Daniel Bauer. While bodycon dresses have become a favourite of Bollywood celebrities the likes of Janhvi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, it is Chopra's personality that brings out the best in the gown.

Priyanka Chopra's second look was a complete contrast to her inaugural night outfit while being tied to each other by the colour white and Bulgari's jewellery. On Day 2 of the festival, the former Miss World's ensemble embodied the true spirit of the statement shared on Sabyasachi 's Instagram story, “Forget sexy, there is nothing sassier than a sari.” Styled by Ami Patel, the desi girl lived up to her moniker in a white floral drape from couturier Sabyasachi.

The ivory drape featured minimal floral designs (one can spot the English rose amongst the blooms), and a thin, triple-layered border featuring navy and copper hue. She paired it with the classic deep V Sabyasachi blouse (front and back) in a matching pattern. It is the combination of the lightweight fabric of the sari, and the pattern, that lends to its whimsical appearance on the Citadel actor. To top it up, she added vintage-theme tinted sunglasses that were part of the Sabyasachi X Morgenthal Frederics fine-crafted eyewear collaboration collection. To accompany the sari, the Bulgari sapphire necklace, coupled with diamond rings, a chain bracelet and hoops completed the look. It wouldn't be Priyanka Chopra without her centre-parted open mane, and her signature bold red lip, which always exudes sexiness.

At a time when red and pink are becoming the trending colours of the season, PC's ivory sari carves its own simple but unique path with its vintage royal elegance personified by the actor. The outfit exemplified that style is forever, while fashion is fleeting. Both PC's looks only underscored the timelessness of the sari and the traditional draping style, along with proving her effortlessness to elevate all kinds of ensembles.
