Synopsis
Doppelgängers, a Nazi widow, a suicidal forester, a family of Syrian poets, and the undead haunt the Steiermark. Adapted from Elfriede Jelinek's monumental novel Die Kinder der Toten (1995), the film was produced around the original locations where the Nobel Prize Laureate grew up.
Director's Bio
Kelly Copper and Pavol Liška co-founded the Nature Theatre of Oklahoma in New York in 1996. Copper was born in Florida, USA, has a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College. Liška was born in Skalica, Czechoslovakia (now Slovak Republic), has a B.A. from Dartmouth College, and an M.F.A. from Columbia University. Die Kinder der Toten is the first film for both Copper and Liška.
