Pedro Costa’s first film, Blood (1989) had its world premiere at Venice Film Festival. Down to Earth (1994), his second feature, shot in Cabo Verde, screened at Cannes Film Festival. Colossal Youth (2006), screened in Competition in Cannes, and Horse Money (2014) was awarded the Leopard for Best Direction at the Locarno Film Festival.
