In Irénée-les-Neiges, a small, isolated town with a population of 215, Simon Dubé dies in a car accident. From that point on, for the Dubé family as well as for Mayor Smallwood and a handful of others, time seems to lose all meaning, and the days stretch on without end. In this period of mourning and in this fog, strangers start to appear.
Denis Côté’s feature film debut Drifting States (2005) won the Golden Leopard - Video at the Locarno Film Festival. His films, All that She Wants (2008) and Curling (2010), each won a Leopard for Best Direction at Locarno, Carcasses (2009) was screened at Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight, and Vic+Flo Saw A Bear (2013) won him a Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlinale.
