The dates for the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star are from October 25, 2018, to November 1, 2018. Film screenings will begin on the 26th of October.
The festival screenings and special events happen across Mumbai. This year’s venues include Regal Cinema (Colaba), Liberty Cinema (Marine Lines), Matterden Carnival Cinemas (Lower Parel) for the Half Ticket section, PVR Kurla (Kurla), PVR Mulund (Mulund), PVR Juhu (Juhu), PVR ECX (Andheri), PVR Icon (Versova), Le Rêve (Bandra). (Venues are subject to change each year).
You can register online at www.bookmyshow.com/mami. In addition to online registration, on-ground registration at all festival screening venues will open on 23rd October and will be active for the duration of the festival. The dates of the festival are October 25, 2018 to November 1, 2018
Registration for all delegates comes at a cost of Rs. 500. This registration entitles you to book a free seat in every screening and event at the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star, and a festival badge with a unique code. The registration does not, however, guarantee a ticket to every show. So we would strongly recommend you to book your tickets a day prior to screening, as they are subject to availability and festival venues often fill up fast.
You can collect your festival badge from 23rd October 2018 until the end of the festival, from your selected badge pickup venue. If you are unable to pick up the badge at your pre-selected venue, you can collect the badge from any of the festival screening venues only after showing a valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver License).
Each delegate needs to personally collect the festival badge. The badge will only be issued after showing a valid identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity card or Driver`s License).
Please present the following at the registration desk to collect your festival badge.
- The electronically generated confirmation email/SMS.
- Valid photo identity card (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card or Driver’s License).
Yes. It is mandatory to carry your festival badge at all times to get entry into any festival screening venue.
There are two ways to attend a film screening/session:
- Book a seat: You need to book a seat for the film screening/session that you want to attend using your unique festival badge number.
The seat can be booked in the following ways
- Online - through BookMyShow.
- On ground - At the booking counters available at all festival screening venues
A rush/walk-in line is meant for the delegates who have not pre-booked their seats for screenings/sessions. The festival generally reserves a few seats for each screening/session for delegates with no prior bookings. Depending upon availability, the delegates in this line are given access to the screening/session.
Booking for each film screening will open a day prior to the screening day at 8 am. You can book your ticket online through www.bookmy.show/mami or on the ground at the booking counters at all festival screening venues. But please remember to be seated at the theatre 15 minutes to the start of the screening if you don’t want to lose your booking. Some seats will be reserved for first come, first served walk-in delegates at the venue so you can try and avail that facility which is also subject to availability
Yes, you can. All our special events (masterclasses, in conversation with, reunions, roundtables) also happen at designated festival venues. You can book a seat to attend them the same way you’d do for a film screening. For more information on our special events, click HERE
Yes. You need to book seats for each film screening/session separately. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.
You can book a maximum of 4 film screenings/sessions in a day. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.
You cannot change one booking into another. However, you can cancel a booking for a particular screening/session and then book another seat for a different screening/session that you might like to watch. All bookings need to be canceled at least 1 hour prior to the start time of the screening. Please note that the new booking you make post canceling an existing one will also be subject to the availability of seats. Once your new ticket is booked, please ensure that you’re seated at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.
Half Ticket movie screenings will take place at Matterden Carnival Cinemas in Lower Parel on the 27th and 28th October.
To get access to Half Ticket screenings, you will have to register yourself, and your child, for the festival online at www.bookmyshow.com/mami open now until the end of the festival. On-ground registration will open on 23rd October 2018 and will go on through the duration of the festival. (Festival dates this year are October 25 to November 1, 2018).
Children and young adults cannot register for Half Ticket without an adult (parent/ authorized guardian). It is mandatory for the adult (parent/ authorized guardian) registering the Children and Young Adults for Half Ticket to be a festival delegate with a valid MAMI festival badge. The children and young adults can be registered for:
- Day Pass - October 27, 2018 (Access to all age applicable Half Ticket movie screenings for the day)
- Day Pass - October 28, 2018 (Access to all age applicable Half Ticket movie screenings for the day)
- Weekend Pass- October 27 and 28, 2018 (Access to all age applicable Half Ticket movie screenings for the weekend)
Children and young adults cannot attend Half Ticket screenings/sessions unaccompanied by the adult (parent/guardian) that has registered them.It is mandatory for the delegate (parent/guardian) accompanying the child to carry valid photo ID of the child and the delegate themselves. In case of the delegate is a guardian, a letter of authority from the parent of the child, along with photo id of the child, the parent of the child and the delegate needs to be carried at all times. Photo IDs will be checked at the time of entry into the venue. Entry can be denied at the discretion of the management if ID proof is inadequate.
You and your child must still be registered for the festival to attend a ‘Half Ticket’ screening. Please remember to carry a valid photo ID for your child and yourself for the show. Standard pre-booking rules apply, and tickets are subject to availability.

Yes. All festival delegates can watch Half Ticket screenings. Please note that all seat bookings are subject to availability. In addition to booking a seat, you must be seated in the theatre, at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the screening.
Children and young adults from ages 5 to 17 years are eligible to watch Half Ticket screenings. Each film has an additional specific age advisory. Please refer to the festival schedule to see the age advisories mentioned before booking seats for screenings. All adult festival delegates can are also eligible to watch Half Ticket screenings.
Yes. All our movies come with age advisories that are mentioned in the daily schedule. Therefore it is necessary that the parent/guardian reads the daily schedule prior to the booking of seats.
14 films will be shown in 10 screenings over the course of 2 days.
Our screenings take place at multiple venues. We would suggest getting in touch with the venue directly for more information on security procedures.
Unfortunately, lost festival badges cannot be replaced. If you lose your festival badge, you will have to re-register for a new one for security reasons. Keep it carefully!
The festival badges are non-transferable. Any misuse or sharing of festival badges is strictly prohibited and the management holds the right of admission for such delegates.
We encourage filmmakers to submit their work to the festival. Entries to the festival’s twentieth edition are now closed, but do log in to our website for regular updates on when the entries for 2019 open.
We’re always looking for volunteers to help in operations. Unfortunately, all volunteering positions for this year’s edition of the festival have been filled. At the moment, the MAMI Year-Round Programme is running in both Delhi and Mumbai. This free membership can be availed by registering via www.mumbaifilmfestival.com/mamiyearroundprogramme.
